otp - Bob's books and blurb comparison

A look into book publishers
Before the actual making of my photo book went ahead I first looked at the two publishers in depth that were recommended to us. These were Bob's books and Blurb. I wanted to compare them in terms of price and what they offer.

Bob's books offer a variety of different sizes however they don't offer the size I was initially looking for which was A5 however they offer small landscape (19x15cm), Landscape (28x21cm), Large Landscape (38x29cm), Square (21x21cm), Large Square (30cmx30cm), Portrait (21x28cm) and Large Portrait ( 28x35cm)

Blurb don't offer as many sizes but the still have a variety which consist of Small square (18x18cm), Standard portrait (20x25cm), Standard landscape (25x20cm), Large square (30x30cm) and large landscape ( 33x 28cm). Blurb also didn't offer an a5 size which was a disappointment and also when looking at a few other websites it was hard to find somewhere that did. So because of this i decided on a standard portrait size instead.
In terms of paper bob's books offer:
Classic
gloss- coated
matte
lustre - photographic
Gloss photographic
matte photographic

And blurb offer...
Both websites offer paperback and hardback options. In terms of price bobs books does work out to be more expensive than Blurb. With a standard portrait size, classic paper and paperback book ti comes to £28.99 and Blurbs standard portrait size with standard paper and paperback cover comes to £20.19. However we do get a 20% discount with bob's books which brings the price down to £23.20.

Both companies offer their own software to create the photobooks as well as a pdf to book option where you create your own photobook in indesign and upload the pdf's which is useful.

In the end i chose to go with bob's books because it was the one recommended to us and receives lots of great reviews for its services and the actual quality of books they produce.
